Avian elevenses

A chilly day. The pigeon-chasing sparrowhawk of Trafalgar Square takes a break with a meaty snack. He had his eye on the perch of my North Road bars, but the falconer was having none of it.

Rumour has it that these beautiful creatures will have their beaks and talons clipped so not to hurt the poor pigeons……. Don’t we live under a wonderfully caring and forward looking regime?! A hung parliament is needed to shake things up in this country! Ooh… suddenly come over all faint. Jenkins! Where’s my laudanum?!

It was pretty astonishing to see, swooping across the Square. I’ve had a personal vendetta against pigeons since they broke into my loft en masse and had the temerity to start mating…

A late entry !
I apologise for being pedantic , but for the record this looks like a Harris Hawk ( almost positive but not being able to see the head ) . A Sparrow Hawk is much smaller & wouldn’t scare pigeons
