My maintenance kit didn’t come in a tin but a rather nice cloth Guvnor bag. The tea is pretty good!

splendid timing! I suspect that the guvnors of the UK have received a long overdue workout this glorious week. Mine has been rattling up and down the Isis on my daily commute to work in Oxford! Blissful!

mrw, I’ve used the Brooks’ Proofhide, drunk the Guv’nor Blend and I’m keeping the inner-tube but you’re welcome to the spanner, the allen wrench and the Guv’nor Maintainance Kit tin that they all came in. I’m sure I can fill any space therein with good old Betty’s Yorkshire tea-bags to stop the tools rattling about.

I had no luck with my Pashley dealer I am afraid. However, I am not aware if Pashley is still doing this, but it is my previous experience that after a bit of persistence (a couple of polite emails sent to “contact” at the Pashley website, if one can believe it) a kind gentleperson employed there was actually able to send a package containing everything except the tea and oil (something about Pashley not wishing the expense of additional export licensing). No canister forthcoming (due to potential customs delays, or something along those lines). Still, not too shabby. International shipping charge payment was owed, but that was sole financial burden at the time. If you want to give it a go, and can’t wait until your UK visit, perhaps it’ll still work.

Thanks for the information. Not at all surprising and probably not worth pursuing in any case. I really would just like the 13/15 spanner to carry “on the road” for the axle nuts and seat binder bolt. I’ll find one in the UK when I come to visit my daughter later this spring.

Other owners, particularly outside the UK, have reported receiving their new Guv’nors with items “misappropriated” i.e. bell, pedals and the ‘Maintenance Kit’ tin and contents — hardly part of the buying experience you expected!
So you must pursue this through your suppling Pashley dealer or take it up with the US importers, depending on consumer law/rights in the US.
For information the missing 13/15mm is a ‘King Dick’, open ended spanner made in England.

My USA purchased guv’nor came with no Maintenance Kit. I can do without, but would like to get my hands on a 13/15 spanner. Not a common item in these parts. Any suggestions on where to find this item.
