In Fine English Company

by James on Nov 19, 2009 in Guvnor

The Guvnor captures in spirit something difficult to describe, a little of the folly that took the English so far in history. Probably too far, hindsight suggests. So it represents the best of British, as long as that includes glory tempered by madness, over-engineered precision, blood, sweat and technique. Eccentric logic, sublime sensibility.

The Fine English Company trade in this very stuff, for it still exists today in the expert toil of craftsmen, tinkerers, engineers, artisans and artists. In this business it makes perfect sense to fit your office with a Pashley Guvnor for inspiration alone, and use it for the odd post run of course.

Tipically British,
I love particularly the slippers (charentaises in French).
The Guvnor is really in this store or juste for a shot?

The guvnor is the my transport as the office is 2 miles from my house. I actually prefer the simplicity of the guvnor to modern spec bikes with confusing gears and suspension etc. I have to say that any journey feels special on the pashley. The office is full of British icons for inspiration including many classic car parts, an Enfield Bullet motorcycle and a lot of motor sport items like race suits from le mans etc.
