Hello everyone,

I took delivery of my new Gov’nor this week here in Los Angeles.  I purchased it from a new store next to LA Brakeless.  In addition to Pashleys, they’ve got an assortment of Linus and other cool bikes.

Rode it into the office this morning.  Beautiful ride.

While I didn’t get the Maintenence Kit tin, I did receive a tool kit (3 allen keys — 2 with screwdrivers — wrench tool, and touch-up paint, picture below) and manual.

Can’t wait to ride it home!

Regards,

Patrick

Patrick.….….……greetings, the North American contingent keeps on growing!

What model have you gone for, also I’m wondering if the tool kit supplied was courtesy of your cycle shop?

From previous reports, it sadly appears the ‘Maintenance Kit’ and brass bell seem to have a habit of going AWOL in transit from Blighty to foreign climes!

Nevertheless, it would be nice to see a picture of you and your new Guv’nor in the Forum > The Public House > Out and About, currently on page 4.

Safe rides ‘One & All’,

DW.

Hyvää päivää!

First of all, I must thank you all. I have been lurking here on the forum for most of the summer now, and you Gentlemen have been influental with my decision to acquire this fine British velocipede that the Guv’nor is. The pressure finally grew too high to handle yesterday; I waltzed into a local dealer and literally rode out of the store on my new and shiny Guv’nor. It might have never come to that had there not been this forum, so I have you thank for me being EUR 1150,00 poorer now!

And what a wonderful bicycle it is, an absolute joy. If it wasn’t so fun to ride I might just as well hang it on the wall just to admire it. Anyhow, I took a short ride on the bicycle yesterday right after I had bought it, just to try out how it feels. I honestly wasn’t planning on returning home sweaty and exhausted, but that is exactly what happened. I have had a stupid, happy grin on my face since. Below is a photo from that very first ride with my Guv’nor pictured in front of the Suomenlinna fortress (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suomenlinna), a UNESCO World Heritage site in Helsinki (which happens to be my home town), Finland.

Thank you once again, I’m really looking forward to becoming a regular here!

Kind regards,

Miikka

Tervetula, Herra Miika. 1150.00 EUROS well spent, Sir… but I think you’ve already discovered that, judging by your inability to stop grinning! Wishing you many miles and smiles aboard your trusty steed, and I will look forward to hearing your contributions to this fine forum. A superb snapshot, by the way!

Kind regards,

Martin

Hello from Southeast Texas!  I have a Pashley Guv’nor on order so I’m looking forward to enjoying “proper cycling” in a week or two.

What, everything? The night I came home from Pongo Twistleton’s birthday party and mistook the standing lamp for a burglar?

Ah, good!  I finally got a post to come through.  I had tried several times to post through my company PC with no success.  I finally tried on my Apple and it worked perfectly the first time.  I don’t know whether this problem lies in the PC or my company’s software problems.  Both have had their share of problems…

Now for a better introduction.  I am somewhat of an Anglophile and addicted to anything with wheels.  My daily commuter is a ’04 Works MINI and my weekend toy is a ’47 MG TC.  I recently sold my ’05 Lotus Elise so I justified the purchase of the Guv’nor to my wife as an “Elise replacement”.  I still got “the look” that only a loving wife can give. Laugh  I am an Industrial Designer (product design) for a large PC company in Houston that shares its name with a British steak sauce.  When I can get away from the computer screen, I love to work in my garage doing anything including welding, painting, powder coating, metal fabrication, and general mechanic work.

I ordered my 3-speed 20.5″ Guv’nor through Belmont Distribution in Arizona, USA on August 25th.  I have an estimated time of arrival of August 30th, so I will feel like Christmas has come early next Tuesday.  The Guv’nor will join a variety of other bicycles including a pair of “vintage” Trek road bikes (with lugged Reynolds tubing), a Cannondale aluminum tandem, and a motley assortment of American cruiser bikes.  I also still have my childhood Sears 3-speed bike (made in Austria by Steyr in the late ‘60s) that is scheduled for a full rebuild soon pending the completion of a friend’s ’73 MGB which is occupying my garage while I’m giving it a minor restoration.  Come to think of it, I have been innundated with British machinery lately as I just completed an “under the bonnett” restoration of another friend’s ’62 MGA.  Did I mention that I am addicted to anything with wheels…

Thanks for the welcome!  It’s funny that I was responding about feeling like it will be an early Christmas as you were typing the same thing.  Cool

Thanks,

John

Hello everyone!

First time poster from Chicago Illinois here.  I’ve only known about these gorgeous bikes since sunday and I’ve put one on order here at a local dealer.

I was shopping at the Ralph Lauren Rubgy store here in Lincoln Park and saw a beautiful blue and yellow Pashley on display. Apparently RL commissioned a bike to sell at some of their stores and online.  The wife wasn’t partial to it, but I on the other hand was like a kid at the candy shop. Forget about me needing any corduroy pants and sweaters.…I needed one of these bikes in my arsenal.

I’m currently pedaling on a Bianchi Pista Via Brera as well as a Felt Dispatch.

Looking forward to many miles of fun on this one.…when it gets here.

Cheers
