[Trying to remove the image of Mr. C. Photographer’s relaxation technique from memory…]

I do like the Klean Kanteen water bottles. I bought an unpainted one about a year ago for myself and a pink one for my youngling. They certainly do taste nicer than my previous “Special Needs” plastic bottle. I like the look of the new Klean Kanteen “Reflect” model too. Personally, I wouldn’t use anything other than stainless steel now, however pretty. Mind you, I wouldn’t like to run over a steel bottle! I am very careful I don’t drop mine.

I am trying to find a suitable (instock) handlebar mount, are there any alternatives or should I wait for Velo Orange to restock?

Mr Senior Sir… loving those Klean reflect bottles, can they be purchased in blighty ? Surprised

Dear Mr MGcC,

I am not sure about the “Reflect” range yet, but I bought my 18oz classic Klean Kanteen (which fits in most bicycle holders) from Little Acorns, I suspect they will get the new range in due course. I have a sports top, which doesn’t really fit with the retro vibe of the Guv’nor, but is convenient.

Hope this helps

Sir… Greatly appreciated as ever…

… I quite like the “flat cap”. It would seem a toss up between these Klean bottles and Sigg Retro’s (maybe even the white bottle with the big gold logo, to match the bell ?.… am i going to far, am I, am I !)

Gentlemen,

Whilst pondering which high quality metal bottles to invest in, I came across these and ordered the last two they had in stock… I’ll report back what they are like on arrival

Morning Gentlemen,

I am suffering from a rattling water bottle. I have tried squashing the cage in on the bottle, which has helped a bit. I could send the cage back, but wondered if any of you fine folk have successfully rectified a similar issue?

Dear Mr. Senior, rattling bottles should only be heard in a hamper or at one’s gentleman’s

club, after noon.

I did see someone at this year’s Tweed Run who said he experienced this too. To placate the

annoyance he nattily had sewn two pieces of leather onto the cages to take up slack.

Worked well and looked the part. Should your sewing skills be far from satisfactory, and help

requested by your good half is met with a frown, some carefully applied impact adhesive on

the leather should do the job.

I hope this helps.

Dear Mr. C. Photographer, you’re are a brick, Sir!

Once again your advice seems to be spot on. Mr. Google found me pictures of leather clad water bottle cages to inspire. My good half may indeed frown as she is a vegetarian, but maybe my youngling could be coerced into a little bit of needlework…

Thank you very much.

Just the job.

Now you should be able to cycle as quiet as a whisper instead of sounding like

Ernie and his ghostly rattling milk crates!

Good Evening Gentlemen,

Alas, my machine does still sound like Ernie and his ghostly rattling milk crates! Even when I shroud my bottle in my youngling’s pink water bottle tote there is a rattle, not much, but still audible. I think the design is flawed…

I believe I may need to invest in a Velo Orange jobbie but was wondering first if any of you had seen a centrally mounted water bottle holder for sale? I like the way that the Vanilla bike water bottle holder is mounted centrally (as pictured by Mr. Adam).

Also, if I do get a Velo Orange water cage would you suggest a hook or no hook?

Warm regards

Rich

Evening Gentlemen,

Mr. Senior as you know I have two Velo Orange bottle cages. While Mr. Booster and I were having a rather pleasant tootle around Cheshire the welds at the top of the cage have both given up the ghost. Make of it what you will a one off or a 50% failure rate.

As it turns out a broken water bottle cage was the least of our worries.

Regards,

Adam

Dear Adam,

Sorry to hear of your water bottle cage breakage, it has, I must say dampened my enthusiasm for purchasing a Velo Orange cage…

All the best,

Rich
