You are doing the right thing, I am sure. First you need to land on the frame size, as per your other posts, then there is the single or three speed debate. This can get languidly polarised.… 3 speeds I love.

Finally on Page 11, you can get an idea of just how much a 30’s throwback in Reynolds 531 with 28″ wheels actually weighs.

Good luck finding your heart’s desire in stock though, they seem to be made to order, 2 months or so in purgatory or is it limbo?

It’s quite an ice-breaker, sometimes with attractive ladies… but mostly not.…

Brakes? They won’t shred your Schwalbe Delta Cruisers but can throw you forward from your Brooks B17 Titanium (another benefit) saddle.

Mr Fossil, I happened upon my Guv at the local Evans cycle store– literally ten minutes and I was riding it home. I do hope you will be so lucky. Very much looking forward to meeting you and your trusty steed on one of these ‘ere jaunts we speak of!

Sir’s … Evans are showing stock.… I ordered my steed from them, ordered on online on the Sunday, had a phone call from my local shop on the wednesday, picked it up on the Friday…

Good evening Gentlemen

I used the speaking telegraph to no avail,

I used the Pashley dealer locator and telegraphed all within 25 imperial miles and none had a steed in for me to inspect , then over a hot bevarage the wife reminded me that we shall be dwelling under canvas in the coming week in Dorset and i should cast my net there ..

And there is a cycle emporium that is due a delivery of said cycle
