I’ve found a company who are going to produce me some of the gold / brass type Guv’nor badges. If I have any criticism of the Guv its that its rather devoid of markings and I love the Plus 4 crossbar badges — seen in the second picture here; (http://www.guvnorownersclub.co.….plus-four/)

They are making me 2 sets 100mmx25mm so I’ll report back when I get them.

Andrew,

Why don’t we (that’s the royal “we”) see if we can get badges for club members.

I’ll see how these ones work out and then ask him.

He seems a good sort

We’ll need a design !

Please excuse the rear light — I’ve yet to find something suitable. Today I ordered a front ‘Bullet light’ so I’m looking forward to that, I think I’m done with the modifications now… !!

Andrew,

Solid job one the badges. Hopefully we can all agree on a design for club badges too!

Do not fret over the rear light, as I am having a terrible time finding suitable lights at all. It is required here in Rhode Island to have at least “see me” lighting on all bicycles for riding after dusk. It is a good safety idea but also another method to raise city/state revenue.

Best,

Jonathan

Andrew,

Again nice outcome on the badge. Do you happen to know what font or type face  is used for “Guv’nor” ?

Best,

Jonathan

Good work Andrew. I’d be interested to know the Guvnor typeface too. It’s not miles off Aeronaut minus the lightning bolts…

Andrew and James,

Had an email chat with Rob Witts and he was unable to shed any light on the Guvnor typeface. He scanned the image of the badge layout and therefore bypassed the need to know what type was needed. I guess it will remain a Pashley “secret”

Best,

Jonathan

Good morning one and all.….…..regarding the Guv’nor typeface, maybe it’s stating the obvious, but could the GOC officially ask Pashley what the font is? If we don’t ask, we won’t know!

My guess is that it’s a Pashley in house font, but it would be very useful to know.

Maybe the GOC should seek from Pashleys offical approval to use the font for our site and future projects? Pashley, after all, do get some very useful free international publicity from this website.

Perhaps our esteemed Founder James is already on the case?.….…..safe riding, Geoff.

Gentlemen… apologies in dragging this thread back from the depths of time, but was wondering if anything ever came of it ?

… would love to get a Guv’nor badge, possibly not for the bicycle, but for the back of my Long range Bicycle transportation vehicle (aka the car)

MGcC/One & All,

No need for apologies, many previous posts are worth resurrecting.

I did contact Pashley asking permission for the GOC to use the “PASHLEY” and “GUVNOR” style fonts but nothing came of it!

You could go through the route Andrew took, see his post above dated 27.04.10. Another way worth considering, to produce a logo for your car etc., would be to scan the required printed logo and print onto water slide transfer or adhesive film carrier sheet using a printer.

If this was for your own personal use I don’t believe you would be infringing any copyright issues?

Safe rides,

DW.
