I have a black cycle cape and two separate leggins which my father bought in 1940s. It would suit a Guv’nor owner.

It is not much used and condition is OK, except that the thumb loops inside the cape need re-sowing. The leggins come half way up the thighs, and attach on the side to your trouser button with a strap (two button holes for different heights). If you don’t have a trouser button you could hook it over a belt with a loop of string or velcro. Cape labelled Vinco 27 Made in Scotland, and Slickon Made in Scotland (I daresay the latter is the material); leggins have Vinco 27 printed inside. No hood, my father would have thought in terms of wearing a sowester with it, but I do not have that. It fits me at around 6 foot, but probably would work for almost any size.

Frankly I am happy to use this myself now I have started to cycle again, though would prefer dayglow colours for safety. I don’t own a Guv’nor (though I would like to, and have been lurking here!), and if even if I do in future, I am not likely to get into the vintage look in the way I dress (though who knows I might regret parting with this irreplacable item!). So if anyone here would appreciate it enough to offer me modern gear in return, and can meet central London, you might as well  have it and enjoy it. Please don’t offer me something off ebay for a tenner: the fact that this equipment has not perished in 50 years is testament to it being of decent quality, so I would like something of comparable quality in return.
