Mr Photographer,

As usual a stirring image, forgive my rather simple interpretation but it reminds me of watercolours after a brush has been rinsed in a jar of water.

Quiet surreal.

I certainly hope you’re right Mr C-P.

I’ve just ordered a Defender.

Hand built in Englands heartland by craftsmen with backbones of British steel.

Or thrown together near Birmingham by a bunch of disillusioned socialists.

Time will tell.

I’m old enough to remember being stranded on the M1 and trying to kick some life into a Triumph Trident or coaxing an MGB into life in a pub car-park while the chances of getting the bird back to the flat become slimmer than Ghandi’s whippet.  I did’nt think Britain was so Great then.

However, The Red Arrows can certainly stir the blood, as can the sight and sound of a Supermarine Spitfire, a V16 Vanwall or a Manx Norton (the heady scent of Castrol R wafting across a misty Silverstone early on a summers morn, bliss)

Let’s hope the Land Rover is put together with same devotion.

Somehow.….….….…

Incredible photo, Sir. Bravo!

Thank you both. I’ve had this image in my library for two years and have only just decided

to use it! ‘Mechanic and his car etc.…’.

Since Mr. Tata has been overseeing Land Rover, their vehicles have been transformed into

excellent machines. Ford Transit engines too. You’ll be fine Mr.T.

Ride on!

Mr Photographer,

A fabulous image, almost biblical, thank you for sharing it with us.

Mr Terry,

Congratulations on the new purchase. Having driven them for over 20 years I’ll strongly defend the Defender. Classic, classless design combined with robust practicality. Granted prior to the Tata takeover there may have been the odd ‘characterful’ model produced on a Friday afternoon but I’ve had the good fortune never to have owned one of these. Mine have always been extremely reliable and durable. You have the added advantage of being able to fit a Guvnor in the back.

Cheers!
