Gentlemen… whilst pondering possible winter upgrades for next season, (5 speed Sturmey Archer XL-RD5, with 90mm brake), and perusing the webby for 5 speed downtube options i came upon this offering from our Colonial cousins !!!.…
However, it lacks the heritage and pedigree that the Pashley has. I would bet that a side by side comparison would reveal the inherent cheapness and cost cutting of the Linus vs. the Gov’nor. Nonetheless, it is nice looking and it’s good to see that others are starting to see the merit of this style of bike.
On reflection I’d suggest the biggest advantage of the Guvnor will be its 531 Reynolds frame, compared with the 4130 Chromoly frame (which I imagine would be straight guage and not the 531s shaped tubes… )
…lets say some of the Guvnors components leave a little to be desired, but the frame is pure thoroughbred
