24 March 2011, I finally received my Cordo Castor head lamp from Bobbins in London.  It took three weeks from the London store to my door in suburban Chicago, Illinois.  Here’s the lamp mounted on my 1973 Raleigh Sports.  A very nice battery powered light.

Still keeping my eye peeled for a Soma bullet…a US supplier on ebay has some but best part of £50 blown on one, trying to cut back on my silly spending on toys at the moment and actually save money each month

Anyone fancy a bulk order with Soma?

Mr Adam, thansk for your reply, I’m thinking Soma Bullet for the Guv and bars too for a new project, I have an old Raleigh Royale 531 frame that will look lovely as a Clubman clone…I saw the Clubman Country in the flash yesterday in a Evans…looked lovely with standard drop bars…

Clubman or clubman country hmmm…I do have a nice set of dual control brakes, proper 80’s style, has to be the country clone…or does it

Dogbreath.……have you tried Hubjub  http://www.hubjub.co.uk ? I sourced my Soma Silver Bullet rear light from them in April 2010 for £27.50 including p&p.

I understand they are the UK agents for Soma and will order this light, which isn’t a stock item, along with their usual stock order.

I do recall Hubjub’s proprietor Will leaving a comment somewhere on the site about members placing a bulk order for these lights.

Safe rides, ‘One & All’.

Hello,

New member here.  I ordered the Cordo Castor from Bobbins Cycles exactly one month ago and haven’t received anything yet.  I’m in the States and was wondering if others had problems with their overseas shipping.

Hello Clifford and welcome.….….I know from posting (shipping as you colonials call it) Gripfast wing nuts to the US, delivery can be somewhat protracted.

This is I understand due to your US Homeland Security, together with items that can’t be machine storted by US Mail.

Check out the Royal Mail website > International Incident Bulletin.

Trust this is helpful.

Safe rides ‘One & All’.

Hi Duchy,

AH, I didn’t think about customs.  Thanks for reminding me of that.  I suppose all I can do is just sit and wait.

Dear Mr. Clifford, the US Postal Service has been one of the worst services I have come across for speed

and service. Perhaps they should bring back Lance Armstrong to speed up their “service” a la le Tour de France!

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to follow up and let you know that it turned out my package was lost in the mail.  I contacted Bobbins and one of their senior people got back to me and sent me another light which I will pick up tomorrow from the post office.

Now I can ride safely in the dark in style!

Smile
