Hi, I am 17 years old and have had my pashlye paramount for 2 years. I am looking to buy a second bike and was wondering if you guys thought the guv’nor was maybe for older guys would I look out of place and maybe get stared at? are there any teenagers on here who own one? thanks
Agree with the above. The only minor caveat being that, in my view, the Guvnor politely requests a certain timelessness in rider fashion. So if your tastes are very dependent on this magazine or that sports star, the combination may jolt the passerby. This can of course be a good thing, and in fact should probably be the goal of any 17 year old.
If helpful, I have found that a man can understand his own style through study of his hats.
well retro bikes are ‘in’ at the moment arent they! thanks for the advice guys who could not look trendy on a pashley lily cole rides one and so does kelly brook! they certainly dont look like old grannys on them! one question how do the cream tyres take to being cleaned? does all the dirt come off or do they stain atall?
As a current Pashley owner you have already shown discerning taste & an understanding that going with the crowd is no guarantee of success however; never, ever wear a sweat shirt with a hood on a Guv’nor.
Eh? .…no sweatshits with hoods .…I never read that in the manual .… did that only the other week as I used my Guv to transport myself to the gym & I was not struck down with lighning or anything.
Reason for the Gym being that I would like to look dashing when I can get hold of a nice merino something or other .…& tonight I pedalled to Asda in a Rab T shirt & Swobo 3/4s as I had just got home from the Peaks & had missed my Guv while flying down lumpy things on my Nomad so much that I yelled “juss nippin out fer milk luv” & dissapeared for half an hour.
Back on track though I rekon it’s great that younger folk take to the retro world … it’s nice to see & experience how bikes have evolved .…. style after all is only one facet of the Guv .… & I’m sure we don’t all wear the flash stuff for every ride .…do we?
