Welcome to the club sir, and may I say what a fine imperial name you have too!
Standard Bars on a Guvnor are I believe North Road bars but some of our more adventurous members have opted for Lauterwasser bars (available on the internet) not without a few teething problems I understand.
If you are in the north of this fine country you may care perusing the various threads about forthcoming jaunts — one this Sunday from Cheadle near Manchester, one in a couple of weeks at Hebden Bridge (Cloth caps and ferrets and all that jazz), one in a month or so in Stratford on Avon and an attendance at the Stoke On Trent stage of the Tour of Britain towards the end of September.
Perhaps you could tell us kind sir whereabouts you reside so that existing members may make their acquaintance with you and even join you in taking some country air together.
Just to add to Wertie’s reply, with regard to the ‘make’ of the original equipment. The North Road bars fitted to the Guv’nor are, I believe, Pashley made and are the same pattern, but inverted, to those fitted to most of their ladies and gents Classic range.
The new Guv’nor Plus Two is fitted with Major Taylor style bars which I understand Pashley source from elsewhere.
can you point me to anywhere showing this new Plus Two? they stopped offering the two speed some time ago as i understand but it, not sure why they stopped but it seems perfectly logical they should have this version as well. however i have been looking around the online stores and at the Pashley site and havnt seen a two speed offering.

primo.….…there’s a picture of Plus Two on the Home page, fourth feature down, but this is a prototype cycle without a front brake!
Also see the Forum for more comment under the Plus Two headings.
I spoke to Pashley a few weeks back and was told this cycles is available, about 4 weeks lead time in the UK. Strangely there’s nothing currently on the Pashley website about is model. I understand they rejected the initial batch of the Major Taylor handlebars, which probably delayed getting the model to market, but it is available, in fact one of our number has one!*
The other model you mention was probably the Plus Four, which had a two speed drive chain wheel coupled with a two speed hub making four gears. This was a limited number edition of 50.
Safe rides ‘One & All’.

*Edit &PS: just seen ‘Frosty’s’ post and picture dated 22 June in The Public House > Welcome.
