Now Gentlemen — never mind the Brooks L’Eroica jersey that is about as elusive as the Scarlet Pimpernel — take a look at this.

Taken at the Need For Tweed Run in Manchester last weekend (when incidentally Mr Adam cried off due to copious amounts of alcohol the night before!)

I am sure that there is going to be a few fiendishly green envious faces once they have feasted their mince pies on this!

Silk screened or embroidered? Nice touch. Time to get out

the old stencil kit and magic marker I think!

Dapper chap. Well done.

Ride on!

Very stylish Mr. Booster!

Just a bit concerned with what you are up to with your right hand? lol

Warm regards

Mr Cycling Photographer — embroidered sir!

Rich Senior — it’s not what it appears — that is a camera in my hand so no cause for alarm!

MG Cycle Chap — good! Nice to have one over the competition from time to time!

You most serpently will!

I will be attired resplendant in the new jersey — it certainly won’t make me ride any better!

It looks like Booster Junior is joining us on his Grandad’s 1930’s genuine path racer — it is a fixed wheel bicycle so we should be able to drop him on the descents! Have to always have an element of one upmanship on these young upstarts!

Getting a bit of training in as me and the young Booster may give the route a once over this Sunday followed by the Manchester to Blackpool Night Ride on the 17th September — should be a hoot!

Mr Adam and Mr Irobot — takers?

Pip Pip

Wertie

PS Going on Tissington Trail again next Thursday — if anyone is at a loss what to do on that day then perhaps you could join us.

That is fantastic! Booster Junior riding his Grandad’s racer in anger. What a great heritage!

Have never tried a fixed wheel bicycle. Is it a huge task converting a single ratio Guv’nor to a fixie?

Enjoy the rides.

Hi Rich

If your Guv is a single freewheel then I guess all you have to do to convert it to a fixie is to obtain a fixed sprocket and locking ring and fit that.

I am not sure if you could fit a fixed sprocket to a 3 speed but if you could then technically you could have a 3 speed fixie! Now there’s something a bit novel!

A fine woollen garment, Mr Wertie. May I put forward the proposition of your good self taking the helm of the GOC peloton at the forthcoming Giro d’Stokio as ambassador? There is no ulterior motive, I assure you… nothing to do with riding in your tail wind…

Kind regards,

Martin

Mr Martin

I always thought the helm was at the back — in which case I would be delighted to take the helm and sit at the back and take shelter from you chaps!

Pip Pip

PS I trust the back is now better — what with you, Mr Terry and me with bad backs I think we should re-name the club “Old Crocks Cycling Club”

(chortle)   Ah, yes… of course it is! Do forgive my lack of in depth knowledge regarding seafairing ways, Mr Wertie. Myself? I’m still incapacitated, I’m afraid… I haven’t been in the saddle for what seems like an age. “Old Crocks CC” has a nice ring to it. Sign me up.

Kind regards,

Martin

Sir — it is not for sale!

However these can be bought from Oregon Cyclewear — about $80 I think + a bit for the lettering.

Hope that helps

Mr Booster,

I though i recognised that stylish new top, I do believe I mentioned them a while back as they give discounts for large orders.

Irobot.

Mr Irobot — you are absolutely right — there are discounts for multiple orders — I was wondering whether there may be a few takers for a similar jersey in which case I would be happy to furnish the details
