Wonderful idea.

Our founder would be required to in put. I’m sure, despite the economic troubles,

a centrally located ride would be well attended.

What about a loop around Stratford upon Avon (its pretty central ?), from and to the factory maybe ?… possibly something Pashley’s PR department would be interested in assisting with as well ?

Dear MG, Stratford would be good. Factory would not. I believe

one or two members have already enquired about a factory visit and were

given the ‘Elf n’ Safety mantra. Lovely rolling countryside near by though.

Ah, of course– I do apologise: Mr James our club founder has to be consulted on this.

Stratford upon Avon sounds just the ticket, Mr MGcc. Over to the founder and moderators…

Kind regards,

Martin

Morning Gentlemen,

Funnily enough this was a conversation Mr. C. Photographer and I were having last wekend, at the time I was hoping that our beloved founder would be back with us, as this was one of the events he had talked about.

Stratford would be a lovely venue, maybe we could take a trip to Avon Park and set some 1/4rs?

Regards,

Adam

One & All,

Our founder James did mention about a cycle ride, I think he had in mind something London based tying up with next years Queen’s Diamond Jubilee but he seems to have gone to ground, the last email communication I had with him was back in February!

Perhaps another location for consideration for get together and ride could be Blackwell Court, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, B60 1PX

It was the home of John Boultbee, founder of Brooks and the destination of last years Brooks Picnic Ride, it is now owned and run by the Scout Association, dib, dib, dib. dob, dob, dob!

Safe rides.

DW.

Central location would be best, so that people can get to it from various points in the country.

A bar would be better.….….…

The Maltings in York. Top ale, plenty of cycle parking, close to the station of a cycle friendly town.

Cheers!

The Midlands is the obvious place I would imagine, but being from the Midlands… I do like the idea of York

Gentlemen, the City of York is well worth a vsit at any time of year but particularly so over the week-end of the 25th and 26th of June.  It’s the annual rally, taking place on the Knavesmire, of the CTC.  Visit http://www.ctc.org.uk

Also, the home of http://www.yorkcycleworks.com as well as http://www.cycle-heaven.co.uk and, plenty of interesting places for the ladies including http://www.coggles.com  where she can purchase you the latest Barbour lightweight cycling jacket.

And, a particular favourite of mine, an Italian bakery called Via Vecchia, situated on The Shambles.

A chunk of sun-dried tomato and olive bread, some mature Cheddar, a few olives, olive oil and balsamic vinegar in which to dip (the bread) and a glass of something full-bodied to rinse it down with, a rug spread upon the grass in the Museum Gardens and the Guv leaning languidly against a monkey-puzzle tree.   Mrs Terry whittling away, sharpening a stave to stick into a Big Issue vendor.

Have I set the scene?    I rather like York.

Sounds a spiffling idea!

Midlands is probably a good call, although may I remind you that Knutsford is the most central town in the UK and may be fairer for our more northern members.

Good Morning Gentlemen, I hope you’re all having a pleasant Easter.

Whilst looking at the route for the Tour of Britain I noticed details of a few Challenge Rides taking place on parts of the course. One of them is situated in the Midlands, an eighty kilometre ride with a start/finish in Stoke-on Trent. Taking place on September 25th and raising funds for a Prostate Cancer charity.

It may be worth mentioning this one to Mr James.

Details are to be found at http://www.tourride.co.uk

Sir… I’ve already penciled this one (the challenge), rode it last year, I can vouch for the terrain being fine for a Guv. Event has a nice atmosphere, and even has a little crowd at the end for you to do a “no hands” celebration as you cross the line (if you are so inclined !).

… I wouldn’t suggest doing the longer pro-ride though as it contains little hills such as Gun Hill, which unless you are very match fit, you are going to need to be pushed up (there are sometimes strange people watching at this point usually)

… We should enter as the Guv’nors Owner Club, Gentlemen Sportive Riders ?
