I’m wondering if one of you chaps couldn’t do me a bit of a favour and measure the height from the ground of the crossbar on your 22.5″ Guv’nor, if you happen to have one.
Test drove a 20.5″ today and it felt a bit small for me. The guys in the shop were insisting that the next size up would be three inches bigger and enormous. I suspect them of a bit of fast talking. Pashley’s own size guide suggests I should probably want a 22.5″.
Long story short, it turns out they only accept bike–scheme vouchers there anyway (not the cycle–scheme vouchers I have — what?) so I’m going to have to re-order the thing from somewhere else. Provided my comestibles will clear the crossbar of the bigger frame, I’m going to ask for one of them this time round.
If anyone can help me out here, I’d be enormously grateful.
McDosy aka Oliver.….….…… standover height for the 22.5″ frame is 85.5cm. For info. on all three frame sizes, see my post: Forum > The Public House > ‘Size does matter’, dated 3:02pm, June 12.….….…safe rides, Geoff.
There’s plenty more comment on frame size/fit etc. in the Forum > The Public House > ‘Frame option-24″’, ‘Guv’nor what frame size do you recommend’ and ‘The size of your Guv’nor’.
Another issue you should consider is your preferred riding position; is it rear in the air, head into the wind (high saddle/low stem), or sit-up, face into the wind (low saddle/high stem)?
