Dear Pash1, from personal experience a little tightening of the crank should

do the trick. Should it persist, I suggest cod liver oil capsules.

Ride on!

Pash1, greetings.….…..also worth checking out are the rear axle nuts and the rear hub torque arm nut and bolt for security, it could also simply be the chain in need of some ‘GT85’ .….….…safe rides, DW.

thanks for this… ive had a go and put some lubricant but the noise seems to persist, it sounds very much like an engine cooling down a kind of clicking noise… hmm

Pash1.….…if your steed is a 3 speed model it could be the Sturmey Archer X-RD3 hub in need of adjustment, it could even be stone or small piece of flint in a tyre tread!

You need to establish whether it’s transmission (chain/crank/gears) or wheel (stone/flint) rotation related clicking noise.

Safe rides, DW.

Dear Pash1,

If it is a single speed Guv’nor it could be the rear sprocket… I had mine replaced recently during it’s first service by my local bike shop, which fixed my creaking problem.

Best of luck.

Warm regards

Rich
