Gentlemen… As discussed on the Stratford jaunt, any chaps at a loss of something to do this Thursday, planned a little ride around the Ashbourne trails, all welcome…

… suggest meet at 10:00am Ashbourne Leisure centre car park which is on station Rd DE6 1AA.

… from the car park, we have direct access to the bottom of the Tissington Trail… so we can head north on the trail, up to Parsley Hay, were we can have a cake stop… then head back down the High Peak trail until exiting the trail onto National Route 54, which skirts Carsington water, then back across to Ashbourne on cycle route 54, rejoining the Tissington trail and back to the car park… I’d suggest no more than 2/3hrs looking at the map on sustrans..

(search Ashbourne, if the map doesnt default properly)

Gentlemen… Just got back from a little tootle up to Ashborne on the old Guv.… and whilst there had a quick check of the car park behind the Leisure centre on Station Rd… everything is open and access to the trail is still all in place etc… Car parking is £4 for 4hrs or a £5 for all day…

Weather forecast is no rain expected in Ashbourne until 4pm, moving up from the south

See you chaps in the morning… MGcC

Well chaps… what a ride it was, thank you very much for the great company as ever…

My total ride ( after riding home), I ended up doing 65.1miles, we averaged 12.2mph,… riding time was 5hrs 19mins… we did 815m of climbing, top speed of 34mph,  (and I blew some 3,275 calories !)… actually on the last 5 or so miles I did feel the bonk coming, almost popped the old cork chaps, but managed to role it home.…

.… great training ride chaps, lovely views of Derbyshire I think you’d agree… Wink

Good evening Gentlemen,

Chaps, it was with great regret that I had to abstain from today’s ride on account of a spot of the old back trouble. I’m sure you’ll be pleased to know that the osteopath gave it a decent polish with Windolene and is now on the mend. One hopes to be back in the saddle before too long.

Mr MGcC, by the sounds of it, you have had quite a decent training session in preparation for the upcoming Rattler– good going, Sir! I’m very glad to hear that the Ashbourne Loop is a ride worthy of a repeat– I will be there for the next one, no doubt about it.

My best wishes to you and Messrs Senior, Fossil and Biscuit for Sunday’s event– you will do the GOC proud for certain.

Kind regards,

Martin

Afternoon Gentlemen,

A pleasure meeting up again, thank you for your company.

Mr MGcC, I’m a little surprised to hear you metion that you felt like the onset of Bonking, one would have presumed two pints of Martsons and a few Scampi Fries would have seen you fit for a One Day Classic never mind a pootle around the Peaks.

Good luck for the weekend.

Regards,

Adam
